Baldi Home Jewels

Today we had the pleasure to have a Skype call with Leonardo Boni, Baldi’s Chief Operations Officer. Baldi represents hand-craft excellence in Firenze since 1867. Its most famous products, its bathtubs, vases, bowls and lamps, are renowned as examples of a unique expertise. Its artisans, heirs of the Florentine Renaissance, use precious materials and ancient techniques to create home “jewels” appreciated all around the world.

The company represents a good example of how heritage can be coupled with technology and internationalization. The use of 3D scanners, 3D printers, Virtual Reality and many other innovative solutions strongly contributed to the firm success in the last five years. These technologies did not eliminate craftsmen’s expertise. On the contrary, they increased quality standards and motivation among workers.

The question is how this experience based in Florence can be replicated in Venice. How tecnology can stimulate creativity and quality standards in the four firms that are now involved in the Experior Venezia project?
